More expertise, stronger service and new opportunities
Linka Group has acquired the majority of the business activities of Verdo Energy Systems A/S within service, automation, industry and smaller energy projects. With this acquisition, the Group grows to approximately 150 employees and strengthens its expertise in engineering, project management, commissioning and technical service.
On 19 October 2026, Linka Group, through its subsidiary Linka Service A/S, acquired the majority of the business activities of Verdo Energy Systems A/S.
The acquisition brings approximately 50 new employees to the Group, adding extensive technical experience and specialist expertise. This puts Linka Group in a stronger position to meet the growing demand for energy solutions and technical services within district heating and industry.
Additional expertise across the Group
The new employees will become part of Linka Group’s organisation, bringing expertise and resources that strengthen all three companies:
- Linka Energy gains additional resources in engineering, design and project management, increasing its capacity to deliver both ongoing and future energy projects.
- Weiss strengthens its service organisation with additional expertise in technical service, commissioning and automation, as well as improved geographical coverage, particularly in Northern and Western Denmark.
- Jernforsen Energy gains access to additional technical specialists and project resources to support its substantial order backlog and continued growth.
At the same time, the acquisition strengthens the Group’s presence in Denmark and creates new opportunities in the Polish market.
Stronger service and wider geographical coverage
A key focus of the acquisition is the expansion of the Group’s service activities.
With the new operations in Aalborg and Weiss’s existing service organisation, Linka Group gains additional specialists and wider geographical coverage. This strengthens our ability to support customers with technical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning and automation.
For customers who have previously worked with Verdo Energy Systems, our priority is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain established professional relationships. Many of the employees who already know these customers and their plants will continue as part of Linka Group.
A stronger partner throughout the plant’s lifetime
With approximately 150 employees and a broader technical organisation, Linka Group is further strengthening its position as a supplier and partner for energy solutions within district heating and industry.
The Group can support customers throughout the entire lifetime of their plants – from engineering and installation to commissioning, operation, service and maintenance.
The acquisition therefore provides both additional resources for delivering new projects and a stronger organisation to support existing energy plants.

With SEGFlu®, a larger share of the energy contained in the flue gas can be recovered and returned to the heat production process. The solution is suitable for, among others, straw- and wood chip-fired boilers and can be used with direct heat exchange or combined with an absorption heat pump for additional energy recovery.
More energy from biomass
The potential for heat recovery depends, among other factors, on the type of fuel and its moisture content. The figures below show examples of how flue gas condensation can affect efficiency and flue gas temperature:

Efficiency is stated in relation to the fuel’s lower heating value. The actual energy recovery depends on the individual plant, fuel and operating conditions.
SEGFlu BIO – condensate treatment
Flue gas condensation produces condensate, which must subsequently be treated. SEGFlu BIO is designed for the treatment of condensate from, among other applications, biomass boilers and waste incineration plants.
The system removes particles, impurities, heavy metals and PAH compounds while also regulating the pH level. SEGFlu BIO operates fully automatically, has a low chemical consumption and logs parameters including water volume, pH and temperature.
SEGFlu ULTRA – reuse of condensate
With SEGFlu ULTRA, the condensate can be treated further using ultrafiltration. The purified water can then be reused as make-up water in the plant instead of being discharged to the sewer.
This reduces the need for mains water and can also result in savings on both water consumption and wastewater discharge.
Retrofit for existing biomass plants
Through the partnership between Weiss and SEG, SEGFlu® can be offered as a retrofit solution for existing biomass plants. This makes it possible to improve energy recovery and reduce flue gas temperature without necessarily replacing the existing boiler plant.

Weiss ApS rebuilds a chip plant for a customer in the wood industry
The challenge:
The customer has a Linka boiler to heat the factory by burning wood chips from production. The customer’s chip silo is too small and its cone-shaped bottom is unsuitable for sawdust/shavings because the material bridges inside and cannot be fed out. In the summer, surplus chips are transported away in containers. In winter, it struggles to produce enough wood chips to heat the factory.
The solution:
It is decided to connect the boiler to the city’s district heating system so that heat can be exchanged both ways. Weiss ApS. Installing a new and larger silo, with a flat bottom and a Weiss NFU 600 outfeeder. In addition, a solution is designed for filling wood pellets during periods when not enough wood chips are produced for firing. Throughout the conversion phase, the customer borrows a mobile 3 MW oil boiler from Weiss. This is connected to the heating system until the district heating is connected.
Now:
The facility after reconstruction: The existing chain conveyor is now used, along with a new unloading station, to fill with wood pellets in the winter. The chip silo has double the capacity compared to before. With the new Weiss outfeeder, there are no longer any problems getting the material out of the silo and into the boiler. In the summer, surplus heat is fed into the local district heating network.

We have been working for the NHS at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for the past few years, where we have installed two 1.6 MW biomass pellet boilers that produce steam for the hospital’s laundry/cleaning facilities.
Our Service Engineer is currently there to provide support and training to their operating staff.

We are currently working on the production of a pusher piston for a Weiss wood chip pusher, which will be delivered and installed at Ølgod Varmeforsyning.
